Six months ago, I was happy. I was simply Naomi Carradine.

One month ago, I was admitted into a psych ward.

Yesterday, Lachlan visited me. Kissed me. And told me that I’m starting to lose my mind.

Hours later, Max haunted my thoughts, reminding me I’m not crazy and that he needs my help.

A few minutes ago, I drifted further from reality, trying to unravel the past.

And now...everyone thinks I’m insane. But, I know he's real, and I know he needs me.

Do you believe me?

REVIEW

Oh my gosh I am having a time contemplating reality after reading Unravel. I mean I literally felt the MC's world unravelling around her.

The story is told from the POV of Naomi, who starts the story in a Psychiatric Hospital. The entire book is spent glimpsing into her past while she tries to explain to her doctor why she's in the facility. To be truthful I had no idea until the last few chapters where the story was going. Now I feel like I need to reread it because I feel that there were clues dropped along the way that I missed.

The book itself is well written and fast paced. The story was a new experience for me, to put myself in the head of someone struggling with a psychiatric experience was mind warping, that plus the main issue at the heart of the story made the book an intense read.

  1. Is it bad that I love these kind of reads? Makes for one crazy ride, that's for sure, only ever read a few myself, since you have to be in the right mood for one, haha. But I love ones like that, where you don't know what the hells going on, and who to trust, if you can even trust the MC herself, always fun. :) Ohhh, try Ultraviolet by R.J. Anderson, got me into these type of reads, and so. good.

  2. I just added Ultraviolet to my TBR, it sounds impressively mind warping! You're right about having to be in the right mood but as long as I am these types of books never fail to blow my mind.
