(Summary and Picture from Goodreads)
Yup this book was pretty much amazing just like the first book in the series.
When the book begins Mara is waking up in an unknown room with an unknown person. It doesn't take long for us to find out that she's in a psychiatric hospital and the person is Dr. Kells. Turns out Mara went a little crazy at the closing of The Unbecoming Of Mara Dyer, funny how that title sounds after reading the whole book. The Evolution of Mara Dyer is all about Mara trying to prove she isn't crazy to her family, to Noah, and to the doctors. The only person who seems to believe her is Noah, though at times I question even that. We encounter Jamie again, YAY, though he is almost moodier than he was in the first book. We find out why he may be an important character, but I'm not going to tell you why because that would spoil it. We are also introduced to new crazies like Pheobe who is creepy and seems to be stalking Mara, and Stella who Jamie says could almost be normal.
I again spent the first part of the book wondering if Mara was truly losing her mind or if Jude was really back. There are some things that have you guessing her sanity, but then there are some crazy plot turns that hit you out of nowhere leaving you thinking you have NO idea what's going on.
And talk about an ending, I did not see it coming!! Now I'm left highly anticipating the third book, The Retribution of Mara Dyer, which isn't coming out until JUNE 2014!!! Even so I think you need to read this book RIGHT NOW! Misery loves company :-)
