She could save the world—or destroy it.
Sixteen-year-old Evangeline "Evie" Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they're still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.
But she can't do either alone.
With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can't totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?
Who can Evie trust?
As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it's not always clear who is on which side.

That is a crap long summary, is it not? Jeez, give away the whole book why don't ya!
I did really like this book. There were some issues that drove me crazy, but aside from that it is an awesomely written dystopian with weavings of Tarot "magic" (I know nothing of Tarot so please don't murder me because I called it magic).
The story line itself is crazy creative, it almost doesn't even need the romance to keep me interested. I'm wholly devoted to finding out how this battle is going to play out but the romance does make for a yummy appetizer.

My main issues with this book are Jack's asshole-ness and Evie's lack of a backbone. Jack's whole swoonworthy appearance is such a turn on but his degrading attitude towards girls is a let down. I wish he didn't have to be such a pig sometimes.
And Evie, I like you, I do, but come on!! Yes Jack can be a total a-hole but I'm positive that if Evie would take him down a notch he would be a whole lot better. I mean she has all these awesome powers, she really doesn't need Jack to come to her rescue so I wish she would quit letting him treat her like dirt. Of course it requires her getting over her fear of said powers in order for her to really enjoy them.
But hot damn what an ending!!
**Side note - since my purchase of Poison Princess and Endless Knight they have changed the covers of the books to pure ugliness. I am NOT happy about it, I'm pretty pissed with whoever made this decision.
Haha yeah this summary is almost a book in itself O_O I have been meaning to read this one for a while, but it sounds like the reviews were SUPER positive at first and then they weren't, so I'm a bit wary now. The lack of backbone would def annoy me too that's one trait I dislike in an MC, but the plot/concept sounds so intriguing! And I'm so curious about the ending too I've heard many comments about it!!
